Eyes to Argus is a Maltese band crafting an immersive blend of atmospheric indie, post-rock, shoegaze, and ambient influences. Their music is a delicate balance of the familiar and the experimental—melancholic yet uplifting, introspective yet expansive. Over the years, they've carved a distinct sonic identity that resonates deeply with both local and international listeners.

The band is made up of Samwel Mallia on guitar and vocals, Ben Mifsud Joslin on bass and vocals, Robert Farrugia on synthesizers and piano, and Samuel Attard on drums and percussion. Since their formation, Eyes to Argus has evolved steadily, using each release as a chance to explore new emotional and sonic terrain.
Their journey began with VEER (2017), a debut album composed of songs written between 2012 and 2016. It served as a foundation for the band to explore different sonic paths while striving for thematic cohesion. This was followed by Microcosm (2019), a standalone single that introduced a grittier, more charged direction, while still preserving the band’s signature atmospheric textures.

In 2021, they released in habit via Post. Recordings. This concept album delved into the meaning of shared spaces and the stories they hold. Each of the six tracks symbolised a different room in a house and was paired with an artwork created by a local visual artist, further deepening the album’s emotional and spatial exploration. Two years later, the band invited reinterpretation with habit_at (2023), a remix album featuring seven collaborators who re-imagined tracks from in habit, highlighting the band’s openness to experimentation and community-driven creativity.
With Reroot (2024), their third full-length album, Eyes to Argus reflected on the threshold of a new decade in their lives. Written and recorded as the members approached their thirties, the album grapples with the balance between youthful drive and the onset of burnout. The release was marked by a celebratory launch show on October 19, 2024, at The British Legion in Valletta—a moment of both reflection and re-invigoration.

Live performance has always been central to the band’s identity. Eyes to Argus has graced many of Malta’s most notable alternative festivals and has shared the stage with acclaimed international acts like Mokadelic, Staghorn, and Yndi Halda. In 2018, they partnered with fellow Maltese band Fuzzhoneys for a UK mini-tour titled "Eyes On The Hive," with stops in Manchester, Bristol, London, and Sheffield. Their growing international presence also took them to the US, where they played a string of shows that tested their resilience and adaptability. Reflecting on the experience, the band noted the contrast between the excitement of new audiences and the unpredictability of unfamiliar venues and logistics. Despite the challenges, they found the experience profoundly rewarding, underscoring the importance of trust, flexibility, and connection in live performance.

Back home, they continue to foster their relationship with fans through regular social media engagement and traditions such as their annual End-of-Year playlist. In December 2024, they reflected on the creative process behind Reroot and shared a playlist of their favourite releases of the year, inviting fans into their sonic world beyond their own music.
As they gear up to perform at the 12th edition of Rock The South Malta, one of the country’s premier alternative music festivals, Eyes to Argus reaffirm their role as a staple of the Maltese indie and post-rock scene. With each project and performance, they continue to challenge themselves and expand their creative horizons, offering music that is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically adventurous.
