Haine Unleashes Their Debut Album: Fertile Void - Press Release

Malta’s deathcore act Haine are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Fertile Void. This release follows the success of their self-titled EP (2021) and marks a new era for the band as they continue to push the boundaries of extreme music. With their signature blend of heavy grooves, crushing breakdowns, and melodic overtones, Haine is set to make waves both locally and internationally.

A Bold Conceptual Journey

Fertile Void is more than just an album—it is an immersive narrative experience that explores the complexities of human emotion and personal growth. Taking inspiration from the Gestalt Cycle of Experience, the album’s concept is also influenced by psychotherapy, particularly the transformative process of navigating the Fertile Void. This stage represents a moment of emptiness that fosters self-awareness and growth.

The ten tracks take the listener on a profound journey through the stages of the cycle, where each stage is represented through both lyrics and music, creating a deeply layered narrative that invites introspection and personal interpretation. The protagonist’s journey is a metaphor for self-discovery, turning moments of uncertainty into opportunities for transformation and empowerment.

Collaborations with Metal Heavyweights

Haine has elevated the album’s impact by collaborating with some of the metal world’s most respected figures. Ben Duerr of Shadow of Intent delivers a commanding vocal performance on "The Lake," a track that exemplifies the album’s intensity and depth. Andreas Bjulver of Cabal brings his unique energy to "Insentient," a track that fuses Haine’s sound with global deathcore influences. These collaborations not only enrich the album’s sound but also introduce Haine to new audiences worldwide.

The Creative Process

The creation of Fertile Void was an intricate and collaborative endeavor, divided into several key stages. The band developed a cohesive narrative that intertwines deeply personal emotions with universal themes, serving as the foundation for the album's lyrics and musical direction. The lyric writing was a deliberate process, aligning each track with specific emotional or psychological stages as part of the storytelling. During pre-production, led by Claudio, the band produced detailed demos that acted as blueprints, refining arrangements and experimenting with additional instrumentation and effects. Recording took place at SpineSplitter Studio under the guidance of David Depasquale, whose expertise in mixing and mastering brought a polished yet raw quality to the sound, encapsulating the album’s essence. The visual aspects were equally deliberate, with Claudio collaborating with Bjorgvin from MetalCover.art to design artwork that complements the album’s themes. Photography by Etienne Bugeja and videography by Nicholas Bonello further enriched the project, with the release of two music videos—“The Lake,” featuring Ben Duerr, and “Blood Moon”—and a third video set to premiere soon, adding layers to the album’s immersive narrative.

Future Releases and Performances

Haine is committed to providing a comprehensive experience for their fans. Alongside the album’s release, the band has developed exclusive new merchandise and plans for extensive international promotion. Released and upcoming music videos will continue to explore the album’s themes, offering fans a deeper connection to the concept.

Live performances will be a key component of the album’s promotion. Haine is slated to perform at major local events such as The Farsons Beer Festival and Rock the South, as well as international festivals alongside some of deathcore’s biggest names. These shows will serve as a platform to showcase Fertile Void to diverse audiences, solidifying Haine’s reputation as innovators in the genre.
