Xtreme Metal Assault ‘New Blood’ 2025: A Return to Glory for Local Talent

The Xtreme Metal Assault (XMA) is back! After a long hiatus, the much-anticipated XMA returns to Tigullio on October 18th, 2025, with a fresh, exciting concept: New Blood. This festival is set to celebrate the younger metal generation and showcase the best of local talent, reigniting the flames of the metal scene once again.

For those wondering why XMA is making a comeback after organizer Edward Tagliaferro vowed not to return in 2020, here’s the story: XMA, which was founded in 2007, faced numerous challenges over the years, including cancellations in 2019 and 2020. The festival, which had flourished between 2007 and 2018, faced setbacks due to competition from larger events and, of course, the global pandemic. However, Edward Tagliaferro has been inspired by the growing and vibrant younger metal community, with numerous smaller events and gigs thriving, but a noticeable gap in larger events post-COVID. Now, in 2025, XMA is back to fill that void and celebrate the next generation of metal talent.

“This festival is about recognizing and elevating the local talent, particularly the younger generation, who are the future of our scene,” said Edward Tagliaferro, XMA organizer. “I’ve been watching a steadily growing metal movement, and I believe it’s time to come together and build something special again. XMA ‘New Blood’ is all about pushing the scene forward and providing a platform for new and emerging talent.”

XMA ‘New Blood’ will focus on supporting and showcasing local bands, ensuring that the emphasis remains on nurturing the scene and providing opportunities for up-and-coming talent to shine. Fans and musicians alike are encouraged to get involved, attend the event, and continue supporting the local metal movement.
